The opal is a natural gemstone known as "the tears of Zeus' defeat" and is believed to resemble the most shattered of hearts, because it is a healing stone. The crystal is thought to be a robust amulet of luck and protection. It is named after the sanskrit term for gemstone "upala" and is a soft stone, very sensitive to water, in it.s natural state. But rest assured, this studs contain opal triplet, which means that the opal is protected by two layers of glass, to ensure the shine is kept, with little possibility of damage. Still, better not get it too wet, or if you do, dont let it dry on it.s own, just dry it with a cloth. The studs come in their original Australian Opal box.
